The Weill Cornell Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC)
Investigators from all fields and disciplines, research coordinators, and all others interested in translational research, the Weill Cornell Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC) invites you to participate in new eLearning courses.
These free, online courses may be taken at one’s own pace. Each lesson includes a knowledge check at the end, allowing self-assessment. At the end of each course, a certificate of completion will be issued.
I. Principles of Clinical Research and Design
This course provides an introduction to the design of sound clinical research, including randomized trials, epidemiological studies and health economics/outcomes research, in a 4-modular format (6 hours total):
o Principles of Clinical Research and Design

o Non-Interventional Studies – Epidemiology
o Other Non-Interventional Studies
II. Drug Development and Pharmacology
This course covers the drug development process from discovery to post-marketing in a 5-modular format (8 hours total):
o How New Drugs are Discovered
o Preclinical Studies
o Testing Individual Drugs in Humans
o Regulatory Review Process
o Post-marketing Studies & Safety Surveillance
